In order to identify the factors affecting the hydrogeochemistry of the underground water of springs and canals in the area of copper mineral exploration in Ardestan city of Isfahan province, 111 water samples were collected and analyzed from wells, canals and springs in the area. All water sources were investigated using graphical methods such as Piper, Stiff, Shuler and Wilcox charts and studying water quality in terms of various uses. The results show that there are four dominant types of CaHCO3, NaHCO3, NaCl and CaCl in the underground water of the region, which is more than the sodium and calcium bicarbonate types. The calculation of the saturation index of some minerals shows that the groundwater is undersaturated with respect to calcite, dolomite, gypsum, anhydrite and halite and supersaturated with respect to goethite and halite. Also, the combined diagrams of ion ratio show the influence of the dissolution of sodium carbonates and plagioclases on the hydrogeochemistry of the underground water of the region. According to Willogs and Schuler charts, the quality of underground water in most areas is suitable for agriculture and drinking. However, due to the potential of producing acidic wastewater due to the oxidation of minerals such as pyrite during the extraction of minerals in the future, the quality of Ardestan's water resources may be affected.
